Okey last night T-dawg asked` me about the demons; my definition and what role they'd play in this. Well I was up early this morning and disappointed that my recently dl'd eps of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu was subbed in Spanish (no offense to anyone who speaks it) so I decided to write this...
Part i:
Sepparation
The best way I can summarize it is like this; as Ningen (humans) are living 'material' Youkai (demons and otherworldly creatures) and Kami (spirits/dieties) are living 'energy'. In the Shinkai (Kami realm) and Makai (Youkai realm) they have 'bodies' but after passing through the 'Event Horrizon' (dimensional anomoly that sepparates the 2 parts of reality) and entering the sandwitched Ningenkai (human world/earth) or any other part of physical space they appear as spirits/masses of energy. And for those without high levels of ESP/spiritual power nothing at all. The opposite happens when a human dies and their soul goes to it's respective fate.
Part 2:
Breaking the rules
Think of the Event Horrizon as a dimensional coffee filter; it causes whatever entity travelling through it to conform to the rules of the dimension they are travelling to. For Ningen however, most aren't Espers or have an abnormal supply of spiritual power so if they managed to pass through their bodies would be lost and their souls would be overcome by the atmosphere of the other worlds. The way around this, some sort of shielding device whether it be magical or technological. Espers and the like would have a natural means of survival...or just punch a 'hole' in the Event Horrizon via magic or science and slip through; keeping the laws of your dimension and sustaining your body. The problem with this is that if a 'big' enough hole were made the walls of reality would come crashing down and 2 worlds, laws and all would merge; the end result is a world with a balance of laws and those who can't conform shall simply be erased from existance... (hint hint...) Those methods can also be used by Youkai/Kami to keep their forms in the physical realm
Part 3:
Changing blood into power
Now to tie all this together; by trafficing spirits or using rituals to summon a specific type of spirit to the Ningenkai those creatures keep their physical bodies. By extracting their blood and mixing it with human blood Keil's order witnessed 2 possible outcomes. One; if the host has a high enough level of ESP or strong aura they can control the energy within their new blood and keep a stable form gaining new unique traits and nearly indefinate lifespans. The other outcome however...those with little to no psychic capibilities or a weak aura will lose control of their newfound 'power', their bodies will metamorph into powerful grotesque berserker-like creature; the perfect meat shield.
